Brioche Hat
Join Michelle to learn how to knit 2-color brioche in the round. We will be knitting a brioche hat designed by Lavanya Petricella called Brioche Slouch Hat. This technique is a type of double knitting and creates a cozy squishy garment. Choosing the colors is the best part!
Supplies needed:
Pattern: Brioche Slouch Hat by Lavanya Petricella on Ravelry; purchase before class
Yarn: Two skeins of contrasting colors in Worsted or DK Weight. We can provide assistance in choosing colors. It is important that the yarns are visually distinctive from each other.
Needles: Depends on the weight of the yarn; refer to pattern for sizes
Homework: Cast on stitches and complete ribbing section before class.
Skills required: This is an intermediate knitting class. Students need to know the knit and purl stitches, yarn overs and knit/purl two together. As this is a different way of way of thinking about “what makes a stitch” it is important that you feel confident in your knitting skills. An adventurous spirit and desire to learn new techniques is a bonus!!
