Knitted Ghost: Learn to use double pointed needles!

Just in time for Halloween, join Instructor Cheryl in crafting a fun stuffed ghost!

This class is a great introduction to toy-making. We'll learn how to work in the round with double-pointed needles (DPNs), a skill needed for making hats and socks. We also cover how knitting toys differs from other knitting projects and finishing techniques that will keep your toy looking great even after hours of play.

Prerequisite: Students must know how to cast on, knit and purl without assistance.

Pattern: Gus and Augustus GHOSTS. The pattern is free on Ravelry. We recommend printing the pattern ahead of time, or showing up a bit early so we can print it for you in the shop.

Instructor: Cheryl

Materials:
- We recommend using a white worsted weight yarn for this class. You will also need a small amount of black yarn for your ghost's eyes and other features.
** Note that if you intend to give your ghost to a child, a washable or acrylic yarn is recommended. If you have questions about which yarns to select, Indigo Purls' staff will be happy to help you find what you need.
- Double-pointed needles in a size that will allow you to create a tight fabric. The samples were knit using size 5 needles. Note that while this pattern can be made using Magic Loop or two sets of circulars, the class will not be focused on these skills.
- Darning needle
- Stitch markers
- Row counter or other method for tracking rows
- Stuffing will be provided.
