Giving Hats Program Update

We've been in contact with Olympia Community Youth Services about donating hats. The good news is that they would love to receive hats and mitts. What we need going forward is for donated hats for youth to be:

1. Dark colors like black, blue, brown, green.
2. Slouchy or loose. Not snug watch caps.
3. Labeled as to fiber content for those with allergies
4. Wool or wool blend.

I will be sorting our current donated stash for meeting the color criteria, and then donating the rest to the Union Gospel Mission who runs a community closet for adults. We will still accept hats for adults!

On an added note, the Community Youth Services has a giving program with lots of requested items for the holidays. If you are looking to fill a gift request for someone in need there are several giving trees throughout the community with tags you can take. Check out their website at Community Youth Services for more information about this program!

All of us at Indigo Purls hope that your holiday season is

filled with joy and cozy crafting!
